e-Shram Portal
What is e-Shram Portal
- Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoLE) launched the e-Shram portal for creating a National Database of Unorganized Workers (NDUW).
- The goal is to register 38 million unorganized workers, including construction workers, migrant workers, street vendors, and domestic workers.
- The employees will receive an e-Shram card with a 12-digit unique number.
- If a worker is registered on the eSHRAM portal and has an accident, he will be eligible for Rs 2.0 lakh if he dies or becomes permanently disabled, and Rs 1.0 lakh if he becomes partially disabled.
