Shakti Microprocessor
SHAKTI is an open-source initiative by the Reconfigurable Intelligent Systems Engineering (RISE) group at IIT Madras to develop the first indigenous Indian industrial-grade processor.
The Shakti microprocessor project is part of the Prathap Subrahmanyam Centre for Digital Intelligence and Secure Hardware Architecture (PSCDISHA).
The project is backed by the Ministry of Electronics and IT under the Digital India RISC-V initiative (DIRV)
All the source codes for SHAKTI are open-sourced under the Modified BSD License.
The Shakti-based chip is designed for space applications, with a focus on security and visibility, and can be used in diverse fields like IoT and computer systems.
