The Defence Ministry signed contracts worth ₹2,500 crore for the Indian Army.
₹1,801.34 crore contract is for the tracked version of the Nag Anti-Tank Missile System (NAMIS).
Another contract is with Force Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra for 5,000 light vehicles for the armed forces.
Nag Anti-Tank Missile System (NAMIS)
NAMIS is developed by the Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL) of DRDO
It is a sophisticated anti-tank weapon system equipped with a fire-and-forget missile and an advanced sighting system, providing enhanced firepower and lethality.
The system is designed to transform mechanised operations, offering a strategic advantage against enemy armoured units.
