A tiger attacked and killed a seven-year-old boy near the Trinetra Ganesh temple in Ranthambore National Park, Rajasthan, while he was returning with his family.
The boy’s body was later found deep inside the forest after a rescue operation by forest officials.
Ranthambore National Park
Ranthambore National Park is a vast wildlife reserve near the town of Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan
It is a former royal hunting ground and home to tigers, leopards and marsh crocodiles.
It is bounded to the north by the Banas River and to the south by the Chambal River.
Its landmarks include the imposing 10th-century Ranthambore Fort, on a hilltop, and the Trinetra Ganesh temple.
Ranthambore Tiger Reserve comprises the Ranthambore National Park as well as Sawai Mansingh and Keladevi Sanctuaries
Also in the park, Padam Talao Lake is known for its abundance of water lilies.
