India reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir is a bilateral issue to be resolved only between India and Pakistan.
The only issue India wants to raise is Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), which it considers illegally occupied territory.
India rejected claims made by U.S. President Donald Trump that the U.S. mediated a ceasefire between India and Pakistan.
India stated that there was no discussion of trade in conversations between Indian and U.S. leaders after Operation Sindoor.
Operation Sindoor targeted terror camps in Pakistan and PoK on May 7 and was carried out using conventional military force.
Trump claimed he used trade pressure to stop what could have become a nuclear conflict between India and Pakistan.
Trump said he warned both countries that trade would only continue if they stopped the hostilities.
India dismissed Trump’s claims of a nuclear threat, calling it “nuclear blackmail” and reaffirmed its policy against using or responding to such tactics.
The ceasefire on May 10 was agreed upon directly between Indian and Pakistani military officials during a phone call.
India emphasized that it does not support third-party mediation and conveyed its actions to global leaders as focused only on destroying terror infrastructure.
