Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) introduced CEREBO, a newly developed indigenous device to quickly detect Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI).
It is a hand-held, portable, non-invasive device that can be used in rural and emergency situations where CT, MRI scans are not available.
It uses modern technologies like Near-infrared spectroscopy and machine learning.
Its key features include: radiation-free, low-cost, easy to use, and provides results within one minute.
It can quickly detect intracranial bleeding and edema within the brain.
