Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday will release ₹540 crore — the first instalment of funding — for pucca homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) to one lakh Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) beneficiary families as part of the recently launched PM-JANMAN package for the overall development of PVTG habitations.
A statement from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs said that Mr. Modi would release the first instalment through video conferencing at noon, following which he was set to interact with the PVTG beneficiaries of the package.
PM-JANMAN scheme - basic details
The Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN) scheme aims to bridge the gaps in health, education, and livelihoods for Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) in India.
Launched in November 2023.
It’s a multi-pronged initiative seeking to improve the socio-economic status of these communities by enhancing basic infrastructure and providing individual entitlements.

Vision: To improve the socio-economic status of PVTGs by:
Bridging gaps in health, education, and livelihoods.
Improving basic infrastructure in PVTG communities, habitations, and families.
Aligning with existing schemes of nine Ministries/Departments.
Key Interventions:
Providing individual PVTG households with:
Pucca houses (permanent dwellings)
Safe drinking water and sanitation facilities
Access to entitlements under various government schemes
Vocational education and skill development
Electricity connections
Improving basic infrastructure in PVTG
Roads and bridges
Anganwadi centers (child care centers)
Gram panchayats (village councils)
Haat bazaars (local markets)
Community centers
Enhancing access to essential services:
Education: Early childhood education, school infrastructure development, scholarships
Healthcare: Primary healthcare facilities, maternal and child healthcare, malnutrition prevention
Livelihoods: Sustainable livelihood opportunities, skill development, market linkages for MFPs (minor forest produce)
