31st meeting of the Working Mechanism for Consultation & Coordination on India-China Border Affairs (WMCC) took place in Beijing.
The goal was to address and resolve issues along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

The Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination on India-China Border Affairs (WMCC) was created to manage border issues between India and China.
WMCC facilitates communication and cooperation, including between border security personnel, and coordinates management of border areas.
It is headed by joint secretary-level officials from both sides.
They are entrusted to help the special representative for boundary talks
The ties between the two countries nosedived significantly following the fierce clash in the Galwan Valley in 2020.
Purpose :
To bring back normalcy in the bilateral relations between India and China
To restore peace along the Line of Actual Control.
