What is early warning aircraft
Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) aircraft are specialized military aircraft equipped with radar and other sensors to detect and track airborne and maritime threats.
They provide early warning of enemy aircraft, improving situational awareness and enabling timely responses.
AEW&C systems enhance command and control capabilities, offering coverage of airspace to detect potential threats and coordinate defense efforts.
The IAF currently operates Embraer-based Netra systems and Israeli Phalcon AWACS, each with different coverage capabilities
