New MSP for Raw jute: ₹5,650 per quintal for the 2025-26 season, a ₹315 increase from the previous season.
The new MSP ensures a 66.8% return over the average cost of production for jute farmers.
The MSP is set at 1.5 times the all-India weighted average cost of production, in line with the 2018-19 Budget announcement.
From ₹2,400 per quintal in 2014-15 to ₹5,650 in 2025-26, an increase of ₹3,250 (2.35 times).
Government Support: ₹1,300 crore paid to jute growers for MSP from 2014-15 to 2024-25, compared to ₹441 crore from 2004-14.
Affects 40 lakh farm families and 4 lakh workers in jute mills and trade.
The Jute Corporation of India (JCI) will continue managing price support operations.
