Both sides also discussed the upcoming BIMSTEC summit in Bangkok, where leaders, including PM Modi and Bangladesh's Chief Adviser, are expected to attend.

Jaishankar warned of a "churning" in the Indian Ocean region due to developments in West Asia and the Indo-Pacific, calling for coordinated regional efforts.
