Rosoboronexport's Proposal
Rosoboronexport, Russia’s state-owned defense export company, is offering to partner with India in producing the Su-57, a fifth-generation fighter aircraft (FGFA).
The collaboration could involve the production of the Su-57 at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in India, possibly starting as early as 2025.
Russian Support
Russia will provide advanced fifth-generation technologies to India, including engines, AESA radars, optics, AI elements, software communication, and air weapons.
These technologies could also support India's own Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) program.
Russia has assured India that there will be no threat of sanctions or interruptions in the delivery of components for the aircraft.
India can manufacture these technologies without fearing external restrictions.
Russia offers long-term cooperation, building on 60 years of successful aircraft production collaboration with India, including upgrades to the Su-57's capabilities.
