Delhi Transport Ministry has finalised the draft Electric Vehicle (EV) 2.0 Policy
The policy aims to replace all CNG autorickshaws and light vehicles with electric vehicles (EVs) in phases.
EV Adoption Target: 95% of all vehicles registered in Delhi should be electric by 2027.
The policy focuses on transitioning to electric buses and prioritizing sustainable public transport.
The policy includes incentives for electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers, light commercial vehicles, and trucks, to encourage EV use.
A dedicated fund will be set up using green levies, pollution cess, and aggregator licence fees to finance these incentives.
Commercial transport fleets must transition to electric vehicles.
The policy aims to generate jobs in EV sales, servicing, financing, and battery management.
Training programs for EV mechanics and drivers will be launched.
