The Trump administration is considering issuing extensive travel restrictions for citizens of multiple countries.
A total of 41 countries are listed in an internal memo seen by Reuters, divided into three groups:
First group (10 countries) – Full visa suspension, including Afghanistan, Iran, Syria, Cuba, and North Korea.
Second group (5 countries) – Partial suspensions affecting tourist, student, and immigrant visas (with some exceptions), including Eritrea, Haiti, Laos, Myanmar, and South Sudan.
Third group (26 countries) – Potential partial suspension if their governments fail to address deficiencies within 60 days, including Belarus, Pakistan, and Turkmenistan.
A U.S. official stated that the list is not final and could change.
The decision requires approval from the administration, including U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
