India's defence exports reached a record high of ₹23,622 crore in FY 2024-25.
This is a growth of 12.04% compared to the previous fiscal year (FY 2023-24), which had exports of ₹21,083 crore.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated that India aims to achieve ₹50,000 crore in defence exports by 2029.
Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) saw a significant export growth of 42.85% in FY 2024-25.
The private sector contributed ₹15,233 crore, while DPSUs contributed ₹8,389 crore to the total defence exports.
In FY 2023-24, the private sector’s contribution was ₹15,209 crore, and DPSUs contributed ₹5,874 crore.
The Department of Defence Production issued 1,762 export authorisations in FY 2024-25, a 16.92% increase from 1,507 in FY 2023-24.
A dedicated portal helps in applying for and processing export authorisations.
