Tamil Nadu Ministers K. Ponmudy and V. Senthilbalaji resigned following strong court observations against them.
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin recommended accepting their resignations and proposed re-inducting Mano Thangaraj into the Cabinet.
Their portfolios have been reassigned to other Ministers, and the swearing-in is scheduled at Raj Bhavan.
Senthilbalaji had earlier resigned after his arrest in a money laundering case, was reinstated after bail, but the Supreme Court objected to his return, citing risk to the trial.
Ponmudy faced criticism from the Madras High Court over a derogatory speech and misuse of liberty granted by the Supreme Court in a corruption case.
A PIL has been filed seeking Ponmudy’s disqualification, and the High Court has asked for responses by June 5
