GDP growth for the full financial year 2024-25 was 6.5%, the slowest since the pandemic year 2020-21.
In Q4 of 2024-25, GDP grew by 7.4%, the highest quarterly growth of the year but slower than 8.4% in Q4 of the previous year.
Chief Economic Adviser said India is performing better than many advanced economies in the post-COVID global slowdown.
He pointed out that India’s growth gap compared to advanced economies is now larger than during the 2003–2010 boom era.
Agriculture continued to perform well in Q4, supporting annual growth.
Manufacturing grew by 4.8% in Q4, down from 11.3% in Q4 of the previous year; annual manufacturing growth was 4.5%.
Construction sector grew by 10.8% in Q4, faster than 8.7% in the same quarter last year; annual growth slowed slightly to 9.4% from 10.4%.
Household consumption growth increased to 7.2% in 2024-25, up from 5.6% the previous year.
