Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) held a meeting to address the rising movement of wild cats, especially leopards, near footpaths and roads in Tirumala.
Plans were made for both short-term and long-term actions under the MANIMAL Plan to reduce human-animal conflict.
Additional security forces will be deployed, and garbage will be managed more strictly along the Alipiri footpath.
A regular joint inspection will be conducted by Forest, Revenue, and Panchayat officials along the trekking route.
Safety tools like camera traps, bio-fences, and pepper sprays will be used to prevent leopard entry.
TTD aims to make the Alipiri footpath a “No Leopard Zone.”
Shopkeepers will face new restrictions, and surveillance will be tightened, especially between Sri Narasimha Swamy Temple and the 7th mile.
