The government announced the return of the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) scheme for certain exporters like Advance Authorisation holders, EOUs, and SEZ units.
RoDTEP reimburses exporters for duties and taxes embedded in products that other schemes don’t cover.
The scheme started in 2021 and benefits were available until February 5, 2025, before being paused.
Export groups pushed for the scheme’s extension due to its importance.
The Federation of Indian Export Organisations praised the move, highlighting the key role of these exporters in India’s trade.
The government plans to restore benefits starting June 1, 2025.
Exporters want the benefits to resume from February 7, 2025, to avoid disruption.
