Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla and his crew of the Axiom-4 (Ax-4) mission are entering quarantine before their launch.
The launch is scheduled for June 8 from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
Axiom Space employees gave the crew a send-off to honor their hard work and dedication.
The crew includes Commander Peggy Whitson (USA), Mission Specialist Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski (Poland), and Mission Specialist Tibor Kapu (Hungary).
They will launch on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket aboard the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft from Launch Complex 39A.
The mission duration is up to 14 days on the International Space Station (ISS).
Group Captain Shukla will be the first Indian astronaut on the ISS and the first Indian in space in 40 years.
He is also selected for ISRO’s Gaganyaan mission.
