ഐഐടി-ഡൽഹിയിലെയും (IIT-Delhi) ഡിആർഡിഒയിലെയും (DRDO) ശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞർ ക്വാണ്ടം സൈബർ സുരക്ഷയിൽ (Quantum Cybersecurity) ഒരു സുപ്രധാന മുന്നേറ്റം നടത്തി.
ക്വാണ്ടം കീ ഡിസ്ട്രിബ്യൂഷൻ (Quantum Key Distribution - QKD) എന്ന സാങ്കേതികവിദ്യ ഒരു കിലോമീറ്റർ ദൂരത്തേക്ക് വിജയകരമായി പരീക്ഷിച്ചു. ഇത് സുരക്ഷിതമായ ആശയവിനിമയത്തിന് വഴിയൊരുക്കും.
ഈ മുന്നേറ്റം ഇന്ത്യയുടെ ദേശീയ ക്വാണ്ടം മിഷന്റെ (National Quantum Mission - NQM) ഭാഗമാണ്. 2023-ൽ ആരംഭിച്ച ഈ ദൗത്യത്തിന് 2031 വരെ ₹6,003 കോടി രൂപ വകയിരുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
എന്നാൽ, ഈ നേട്ടങ്ങൾക്കിടയിലും, ദേശീയ ക്വാണ്ടം മിഷൻ നിരവധി ഭരണപരവും സാമ്പത്തികവുമായ വെല്ലുവിളികൾ നേരിടുന്നു.
ഫണ്ട് അനുവദിക്കുന്നതിലെ കാലതാമസം (just-in-time funding), ഏകജാലക അനുമതിയുടെ (single-window clearances) അഭാവം, വിദേശ ഹാർഡ്‌വെയറുകളെയും സോഫ്റ്റ്‌വെയറുകളെയും ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നത് എന്നിവ പ്രധാന വെല്ലുവിളികളാണ്.
ശാസ്ത്രീയമായ നേട്ടങ്ങൾ പൂർണ്ണമായി പ്രയോജനപ്പെടുത്തണമെങ്കിൽ, ഇന്ത്യയുടെ ഗവേഷണ-വികസന (R&D) രംഗത്ത് അടിയന്തിരമായി ഭരണപരമായ പരിഷ്കാരങ്ങൾ (administrative reform) ആവശ്യമാണെന്ന് ലേഖനം വാദിക്കുന്നു.
