ചൈനയിലെ ക്വിംഗ്‌ദാവോയിൽ നടന്ന Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) പ്രതിരോധ മന്ത്രിമാരുടെ യോഗത്തിൽ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ പ്രതിരോധ മന്ത്രി രാജ്‌നാഥ് സിംഗ് ചൈനീസ് പ്രതിരോധ മന്ത്രി അഡ്മിറൽ ഡോങ് ജുനുമായി കൂടിക്കാഴ്ച നടത്തി.
അതിർത്തി കടന്നുള്ള ഭീകരവാദത്തിനെതിരെ (cross-border terrorism) ഇന്ത്യയുടെ ശക്തമായ നിലപാട് അദ്ദേഹം അറിയിച്ചു.
ഇന്ത്യ-ചൈന അതിർത്തിയിൽ സമാധാനവും ശാന്തതയും (peace and tranquility) നിലനിർത്തേണ്ടതിൻ്റെ ആവശ്യകതയെക്കുറിച്ച് ഇരു മന്ത്രിമാരും ചർച്ച ചെയ്തു.
സേനാപിന്മാറ്റം (Disengagement), സംഘർഷം ലഘൂകരിക്കൽ (De-escalation), ബോർഡർ മാനേജ്മെൻ്റ് (Border Management), അതിർത്തി നിർണ്ണയം (Delimitation) തുടങ്ങിയ വിഷയങ്ങളിൽ പുരോഗതി കൈവരിക്കുന്നതിന് ചർച്ചകൾ തുടരാൻ ധാരണയായി.
2020-ലെ അതിർത്തിയിലെ സംഘർഷത്തിന് ശേഷം ഉടലെടുത്ത വിശ്വാസക്കുറവ് (trust deficit) പരിഹരിക്കേണ്ടതിൻ്റെ ആവശ്യകതയെക്കുറിച്ച് ഇന്ത്യ ഊന്നിപ്പറഞ്ഞു.
SCO സംയുക്ത പ്രഖ്യാപനത്തിൽ ഭീകരവാദത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് പരാമർശിക്കാത്തതിനാൽ ഇന്ത്യ അതിൽ നിന്ന് പിന്മാറി. പാകിസ്ഥാൻ്റെ നിർബന്ധപ്രകാരമാണ് ഇത് സംഭവിച്ചതെന്ന് വാർത്തയിൽ പറയുന്നു.
ഭീകരവാദത്തെ നേരിടുക എന്നത് SCO-യുടെ സ്ഥാപക ലക്ഷ്യങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണ്. ഇതിനായി Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) എന്ന ഒരു സംവിധാനവും നിലവിലുണ്ട്.
പഹൽഗാം ഭീകരാക്രമണത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും (Pahalgam attack) ഭീകര ശൃംഖലകളെ തകർക്കാൻ ഇന്ത്യ ലക്ഷ്യമിടുന്ന Operation Sindoor-നെക്കുറിച്ചും ഇന്ത്യ ചൈനീസ് മന്ത്രിയെ ധരിപ്പിച്ചു.
