Key Highlights from the News
Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation released the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) stating that the country's Unemployment Rate (UR) decreased to 5.2% in July (from 5.6% in June).
The Labour Force Participation Rate (LFPR) for women slightly increased to 25.5% in July from 24.5% in June.
The unemployment rate in rural areas (4.4%) is lower than in urban areas (7.2%).
In urban areas, the unemployment rate is higher for women (8.7%) compared to men (6.6%).
The country's Worker Population Ratio (WPR) increased to 52% compared to June.
