The Indian Navy commissioned the new warship, INS Androth, in Visakhapatnam.
This is the second ship in the Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW-SWC) category. The first ship in this category was INS Arnala.
Main Use: To detect, monitor, and destroy enemy submarines in coastal and shallow waters.
The ship was built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE), a public sector undertaking in Kolkata.
This is a significant achievement in India's "Aatmanirbhar Bharat" initiative in the defense sector.
