The Election Commission (EC) has developed a new integrated dashboard called ECINET.
ECINET will replace over 40 different apps and websites with a single platform for all election-related services.
Some features of ECINET will be used in the upcoming Assembly byelections on June 19, and the full dashboard will be ready for the Bihar Assembly election.
ECINET is part of efforts to improve poll management and address issues raised by opposition parties.
Since February, the EC has taken steps like:
Linking death registration data to remove deceased voters from rolls.
Reducing the maximum voters per polling station from 1,500 to 1,200.
Setting up more polling booths in densely populated areas.
Ensuring no voter travels more than 2 km to vote.
Redesigning voter slips for better clarity.
Providing mobile phone deposit facilities at polling stations.
The EC has held 4,719 meetings with over 28,000 political party representatives across India.
It also conducted training for over 3,500 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and Supervisors, who will train a network of 10.5 lakh polling officers.
National-level consultations were held with major political parties, and more are planned post-byelections.
