He said it’s the right time for “create in India, create for the world,” and called India an emerging orange economy (creative economy).
Modi assured international creators they will feel naturally connected to India and their content will be respected.
He praised Indian content creators and encouraged responsible creativity that respects human values and sensitivities.
He noted that Indian entertainment is gaining global viewership, even with subtitles and smaller screens.
Modi was speaking at the WAVES (World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit) in Mumbai, attended by global media leaders.
Modi announced upcoming WAVES Awards to promote Indian creativity globally.
Ambani projected India’s entertainment industry will grow from $28 million to $100 million soon.
Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen said India’s next boom will be in creativity, not just software, and aims to reach millions of students and teachers through digital tools.
