Key Highlights from the News
India's newest scientific research funding agency, Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), has developed a new tool to simply deliver scientific research to the public.
Named SARAL (Simplified and Automated Research Amplification and Learning), this tool uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to convert complex research papers into simple summaries, videos, and podcasts.
ANRF functions as a single-window clearance mechanism for providing research funds to universities and other academic institutions in the country.
It aims to raise 70 percent of the required funding from private sources and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds.
ANRF has taken over many of the functions previously held by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB).
One of ANRF's main objectives is to promote "deep science" and deep tech products and start-ups.
